An information session webinar for the Request for tender - Improved practice to increase herd efficiency in Southern Beef Producing will be held and recorded.

MLA is seeking applications for projects that demonstrate the effects of different calving dates on the profitability of beef producers in the southwest region of Western Australia.

The project will model rainfall, forage growth and utilisation, cow and calf body weight and cow body condition score at different calving dates throughout the year to identify a calving date that maximises profitability.

The project will validate the model of maximum profitability by conducting at least 5 producer demonstration site within the south-west region of Western Australia.
